As a final way to differentiate his work from others in the genre, Woodrow wraps it up with a positive message of hope rather than the standard downward spiral horror tropes.
The winner of the competition is the well-deserved and eerie travel narrative “Wild Swimming” by Elodie Harper.
A constant presence in the book is the sense of extreme claustrophobia, detailed in all it’s excruciating agony by the skillful pen of Nick Cutter.
